ATLANTA -
The last 24 hours in metro Atlanta have been exceptionally violent, according to police reports. Since Monday afternoon, five shootings occurred in the city of Atlanta, with two in DeKalb County.

Two people were shot overnight during a card game, police said. This happened on Lee Street in southwest Atlanta. Both people were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and listed in stable condition, FOX 5 Atlanta reports.

A suspect is under arrest for a shooting at Underground Atlanta Monday afternoon. Brandon Barnes, 25, is charged with murder and waived his first court appearance Tuesday morning.

Investigators say Barnes got into argument with another man inside the shopping area. When they went outside, police say Barnes shot the man several. Markers showed at least nine bullets were fired. Barnes remains at Fulton County Jail.

Atlanta detectives say they hope surveillance video will help them solve a deadly shooting at a gas station on Northside Drive. Early afternoon Monday, someone walked up to a man pumping gas at a Chevron and shot him in the head. There's been no official word on a potential suspect.

A DeKalb County man is recovering Tuesday after someone shot him in the leg while he was in his backyard, DeKalb police said.

Authorities say the victim was in the rear of his home in the 3900 block of Flakes Mill Road. About 10 p.m., someone fired a gun from a nearby wood line and struck the victim. He suffered a non-life threatening injury and was taken to a local hospital for medical attention

Police have not released the victim's name.

Also in DeKalb County, a call of gunshots fired brought police to Whispering Hills Drive, near Dresden, about midnight. Officers arrived to find a man's body on the ground.
